Research interests
Methodological: Signal and image processing; functional MRI; big data analytics, pattern recognition and deep learning in neuroimaging; multimodal imaging (EEG/fMRI fusion); network modeling of brain function (autoregressive, Bayesian, wavelet, state-space); ultra-high-field 7T MRI including sub-mm layer fMRI and multinuclear MR spectroscopy; neurofeedback.
Applications: Sensory, motor and cognitive neuroscience; social and affective neuroscience; consciousness; complementary medicine (especially meditation); clinical populations including autism, Alzheimer’s, developmental psychopathologies, PTSD, Parkinson’s, psychosis and depression; neuroeconomics and neuromarketing; fMRI in awake dogs.

Knowledge Partner and consultant to the MR India Consortium—a multi-million-dollar project funded by the Government of India to build and validate a low-cost MRI scanner for developing countries.
